  • What if I am unsure about starting nutrition counseling?
I offer a free new client meeting to help you determine just that! This 15-minute phone call provides you an opportunity to learn 1) if my nutrition style is a fit for you and 2) whether your specific health need is something I can support you with. We can also discuss any questions you may have regarding fees, insurance, frequency of care, etc.
  • What can I expect from the first appointment?
During our first session, I will obtain an extensive health history, including current nutrition patterns, lifestyle habits, and one's relationship with food. We will discuss your long-term health goals, identify initial ways to address these, and review ways I will support you throughout the process.
  • What is an average appointment time and how frequent are appointments?
Our initial appointment will be 60 minutes long. Follow up appointments' duration depends on individual goals and needs. Nutrition counseling is an investment for the long-term. I truly believe that making sustainable health changes is possible but getting there takes time and practice. As such, I recommend weekly appointments to start with the option to reduce the frequency of visits based on individual progress. This will be something we will discuss throughout our work together.
  • What does weight-neutral mean?
A weight-neutral approach is one that does not use body weight as the focal point of treatment. Instead it emphasizes non–weight-based health markers.
  • Do you accept insurance?
Yes, I am currently in-network with BCBS IL PPO and Blue Choice PPO plans. If you are not in-network, you may request a superbill to submit to insurance for reimbursement purposes. A superbill does not guarantee payment for services. You will be responsible for payment of the full cost of services at the appointment time.
